I was passed on the following request as an open records request.

The county has failed to collect all your specials.

The open records act is about providing access to specific records not answering questions.  I am trying to ascertain if we have a responsive record but without more information about what record you are trying to seek, that is not possible.

 

Cities do have the ability in statute to hold a tax sale if the County is not holding county wide tax sales under KSA 79-2801(c) of the Kansas statutes but the intent of that statute has been that a city only steps into the role of the county if the county has abrogated its duty to hold a tax sale.  Our county does hold annual tax sales.  The county is the administrative arm of the state and the correct body to hold these.

 

I am unaware of any conversations about the city holding its own tax sale.  Can you help me narrow down a timeframe or where you think the conversation occurred?

Henry – I passed your complaint onto our zoning inspector.  It appears there are homeless camping out or squatting in the building, so she notified TPD for them to look into.  There is a question of whether there is an actual zoning violation but she is looking into that also.  If there are any property maintenance concerns, she will hand those off to our property maintenance/code enforcement division.

Henry – Jenny got me this permit information from the 1990 permits.  It contains a few sheets from the plans but not all.  We did not keep building plans for permits during this period.  I perused the information but didn't examine it closely, and not sure you will find it that helpful.   I suggest you look at page 345 of the second file.

Good morning.  According to the county appraiser, this building was built in 1991.  There are numerous permits in more recent years in cityworks.  Do you know if and how I can find the 1990-1991 permit information, including building plans?
