Early Voting starts on Monday, July 21st, and we want to remind you K.S.A. 25-2430 states that no political signs are allowed within 250 feet from the entrance of any poll place while voting is taking place. This includes the Election Office during early voting and all individual Poll Places on Election Day.
At the Election Office, there are gray stripes on the curbs marking the 250 foot spots. As long as your signs are located outside the designated area they will be compliant with the law.
Attached to this email is a Poll Place List of all the locations we are using in this election. Later this week I will send out a link so you can view all the aerial views of polling places before Election Day.
The city of Topeka is also asking that we remind you of their zoning ordinance stating that signs are not allowed within sight triangles (40 feet) at intersections. A copy of that ordinance is part of the attached Electioneering statute.
If you have any questions please call our office. Thank You.
