Biden's New Anti-Women Title IX Rule

Joe Biden has now, unilaterally, erased over 50 years of progress for women that Title IX created. In their never-ending pursuit to cater to 'Trans' TikTok influencers, the Biden Administration has undermined one of the greatest successes ever secured for female students and athletes.

Biological sex is not negotiable, it cannot be replaced with 'gender identity,' and it certainly cannot be based on preferred pronouns. This decision destroys decades of protections for women and girls across America, and opens the floodgates for men to share bathrooms, locker rooms, and compete athletically against our daughters.

Anti-Semitism on College Campuses Surging

What we are seeing across the country on college campuses is disgusting and unacceptable. These people are shouting, 'We are Hamas,' 'Long live Hamas' at Columbia University.

These are terrorist sympathizers who are on the same side as the barbaric people who brutally murdered and killed the most Jewish people in a single day since the Holocaust.

These Ivy League schools are becoming a cesspool for anti-Semitism, and we must hold these institutions and their leadership accountable for putting terrorist sympathizers over the safety and security of our Jewish students.

There is absolutely no place for Anti-semitism, and accountability must be swift. Make no mistake: I will always stand with Israel and the safety and security of our Jewish community.

Joe Biden's War on American Energy Heats Up

Joe Biden's war on American energy continues as he shuts down 13 million acres of National Petroleum Reserves and turns towards hostile nations like Iran and Russia for oil. This is a bad decision for hard-working Americans and our national security.

I recently spoke out against this disastrous decision by the Biden Administration during a press conference with my Senate GOP colleagues. You may click HERE or on the image above to watch my full remarks.

Visiting Kiowa County Memorial Hospital Greensburg

It is always great to see people whose baby I delivered now serving the community as an RN!

Kiowa County Memorial Hospital Greensburg is a beautiful hospital that was built by rural development dollars after the Greensburg tornado almost 17 years ago, which destroyed much of the city. The community has made an incredible rebound!

From the Canon

Dear friends,

As I write this, there is a quiet springtime rain happening outside. It's mid-afternoon, the sky is grey and gloomy while a cool breeze blusters through the trees outside my office window. Several times today I've taken time to wander through the Cathedral. I'm feeling a bit lost in some ways, seeking to find or be found. I'm not sure which.
But while sitting here looking at the window of my office, I notice the reflection of others walking, talking, working … different people moving in and out of my view.  And I think to myself, what if we could reflect Christ in a similar manner?  As people watch us walking, talking, and working, do they see Christ reflected in us?
I'd say yes because I know I've seen Christ in you this past week. Our Lord is found in the love and kindness you've extended to others a time of deep grief and sorrow. You've shared your care and concerns, offered your quiet prayers and presence when no one had any idea what – exactly – could or should be done. You've led by example in these been difficult days, and while we are not guaranteed ease of life, we can be confident that the presence of the God Almighty, Father, Son and Holy Spirit resides with and is reflected in each of us.

Faithfully,
Canon Jody

Daughters of the King Spring Assembly

Practicing The Way of Love was the theme of the Episcopal Diocese of Kansas Daughters of the King Spring Assembly on Saturday, April 20, 2024, at Grace Cathedral. Our Assembly guest speakers shared how we can practice love in our community. We concluded our lovely day in Grace's St. Mary's Chapel with Holy Eucharist. Music was provided by Dr. Livingston, organist.
It was a wonderful day! Thank you to all who made it so!

The missing handbell ringer

At last Saturday's memorial service for Darlene Elwood, the Cathedral Ringers Handbell Choir played a special arrangement of Amazing Grace in honor of the many years Darlene spent as a handbell ringer at the Cathedral. Her last time to play with this group was last month on Palm Sunday. This memorial was set up in her place at the handbell table.

Well done, good and faithful servant. —Matthew 25:23

Violence Reduction, Mental Health Crisis Services and Homelessness in Topeka will be addressed with researched solutions presented to local officials.
