Give the guy Secert Service protection ....... even playing field

A congressional advisory committee just voted in favor of granting Nikki Haley Secret Service protection. While I’m happy she’ll be protected and publicly supported her request, double standards abound. My campaign first requested Secret Service protection in May 2023 with a 63 page declaration. We still have a current request pending. My request is the first time in 55 years a candidate has ever been denied. The Biden administration is the sole outlier to turn down a request for Secret Service coverage. Polling is one of the criteria used to determine whether to approve Secret Service or not. Nikki Haley’s polling is a fraction of mine. According to a NYT/Siena poll, I average 24% in the battleground states. A recent NBC poll shows 34% of Americans could see themselves voting for me. Polling indicates right now that ~50M Americans would vote for me. The will of the people is being thwarted by blatant corruption from Secretary Mayorkas and the Biden Administration. The Bush administration afforded Barack Obama Secret Service protection 551 days before the election. President Obama provided protection to President Trump early; President Trump provided protection to President Biden early–even though they were political adversaries. Refusing me Secret Service protection is a way to drain my campaign funds and stop the movement we’re building together. They want us out of the race by any means necessary. This is blatant election interference. Let me be clear: I have immense respect for the Secret Service. This corruption is coming from much higher up. As many saw on Judicial Watch this week, documents were published that show Secretary Mayorkas and his cronies deliberately refusing my campaign Secret Service–after credible threats and packets of evidence were submitted. Unfortunately, most of the documents were redacted. What do Mayorkas and his buddies have to hide? Unfortunately for the establishment and those who skulk around in back rooms, I’m not going anywhere. Our movement is growing stronger and our coalition is building. I am more steadfast than ever about winning in November. If you give me a sword and some ground to stand on, I will give you your country back. In the interest of transparency, I’m sharing one of our previous requests from October 2023: assets.nationbuilder.com/joinkennedy/pa #Kennedy24

The purported utilization of city funds to finance specials through GO Bonds Funds, coupled with the imposition of taxes on properties with a historical non-payment of real estate taxes, raises significant legal and ethical concerns. Such actions undermine the principles of fairness and equity in taxation and may contravene existing statutes governing municipal finance and property taxation.

In the absence of a clear legal framework supporting the allocation of city funds to specials via GO Bonds Funds, the legitimacy of such disbursements is subject to scrutiny. Municipal authorities are entrusted with the judicious management of public resources, and any deviation from established procedures must be rigorously justified and transparently executed. The apparent allocation of funds without due regard for established protocols undermines public trust and may constitute an abuse of authority.

Furthermore, the imposition of taxes on properties with a history of non-payment of real estate taxes without due consideration for extenuating circumstances or equitable relief mechanisms is ethically questionable. Taxation policies should strive to balance the imperative of revenue generation with considerations of socioeconomic equity and taxpayer hardship. The imposition of additional tax burdens on properties with a historical non-compliance with tax obligations may exacerbate financial distress and perpetuate cycles of economic disadvantage.

The alleged selective enforcement of tax compliance obligations, wherein certain properties are allowed to remain delinquent while others are subject to stringent collection measures, raises suspicions of preferential treatment and potential breaches of fiduciary duty. Property owners have a legal obligation to fulfill their tax obligations in a timely manner, and any deviation from this mandate should be subject to impartial review and accountability mechanisms.

Moreover, the apparent inconsistency in the tax status of properties owned by the same individual raises concerns regarding the veracity of representations made to regulatory authorities. The failure to disclose accurate and comprehensive information regarding tax liabilities may constitute a breach of legal obligations and undermine the integrity of regulatory processes.

In light of the complexities and potential legal ramifications associated with these issues, it is imperative that competent authorities exercise due diligence in investigating the matter. The reluctance of municipal and county authorities to address these concerns underscores the need for external oversight and intervention by higher authorities vested with the requisite jurisdiction and regulatory authority.

In conclusion, the purported allocation of city funds to finance specials through GO Bonds Funds, coupled with the imposition of taxes on properties with a history of non-payment, raises significant legal and ethical concerns. These actions may contravene existing statutes governing municipal finance and property taxation and undermine principles of fairness, equity, and transparency. It is incumbent upon competent authorities to conduct a thorough investigation and uphold the rule of law to ensure accountability and safeguard public trust in the integrity of governance.

Visiting Hays and Russell High School During FFA Week Proclamation

While in Kansas, I visited Hays and Russell High Schools during National Future Farmers of America (FFA) Week.

During my visit, I was able to greet their FFA chapters and present each of them with a signed copy of the National FFA Proclamation, dedicating this week to National FFA Week.

As a fifth-generation farm kid, I know how hard these students work and I'm proud to present them with a signed copy of the FFA Week Proclamation. I am always so impressed by their professionalism and passion. FFA is a wonderful organization that teaches students the importance of where their food comes from and the leadership skills they will hold with them for the rest of their lives.

Joining Hays Youth Leadership Mock Elections

I visited Thomas More Prep Jr/Sr High School to join the Hays Youth Leadership Advisory Board Mock Elections. The Hays Youth Advisory Board promotes and encourages community development, involvement, and other participation with young leaders within Hays.

I am honored to have been invited to speak at the mock election and talk to students about the importance of getting involved and understanding the missions of local and federal governments. We discussed American history, and our work in Washington to protect Kansans' constitutional rights and freedoms.

A big thank you to the Hays Youth Leadership Advisory Board for organizing the event and hats off to the young men and women who are no doubt going to be great leaders in our community someday.

BioNexus KC and Children's Mercy Visit

BioNexus Kansas City is advancing our knowledge and technology in digital health, cancer research, and aiming for our community to be a global leader in both human and animal health. I had the opportunity to learn more about their new tech hub proposal which will bring increased innovation and biomanufacturing to the region.

After this visit, BioNexus joined us at Children's Mercy Hospital in Kansas City where we learned and toured the hospital's impressive new research institute that opened in 2021. The Children's Mercy Research Institute integrates research into health care by fostering a partnership among health care professionals, researchers, patients, and families.

Thank you to BioNexus and Children's Mercy for having me!

Joining KU ROTC Program

I had the pleasure of meeting with University of Kansas' ROTC students to join their Fitness Awards Ceremony and help in distributing awards to students. Additionally, I had the opportunity to have a conversation with ROTC Students about my experience in the Army Reserves, time in Congress, and give them an update on things we're working on in Washington.

KU is one of only about 50 Universities with a full offering of Army, Air Force/Space Force, and Naval ROTC programs. The ROTC programs offer scholarships that pay tuition, furnish books and uniforms, and provide a monthly living allowance.

Upon completion of the requirements and graduation from KU, ROTC cadets are commissioned as Army or Air Force Second Lieutenants, and Naval ROTC Midshipmen are commissioned either as Ensigns in the Navy or as Second Lieutenants in the Marine Corps.

Thank you for having me, and keep up the great work!

Visit to Heartland Community Health Clinic

Community Health Centers are critical to serving communities. I had the opporunity to visit Heartland Community Health Clinic's new Dental Clinic in Lawrence that serves the Douglas County community.

The Heartland Community Health Clinic participates in the Center for Disease Control (CDC)'s Oral Health Program, as well as multiple other clinics across Kansas. I'm proud to be a co-lead in the Promoting Dental Health Act, legislation that reauthorizes the CDC Oral Health program for five years to ensure this important community program continues to be funded.

Thanks for visiting with me and taking the time to tell me about your new facility!

FAFSA Community Roundtables Discussing Application Glitches Nationwide

I hosted two roundtables, one in Overland Park and one in Wichita, with educational leaders from universities and colleges across Kansas to discuss the issues and impact they are facing due to the FAFSA application glitches 17 million students are experiencing nationwide. The application glitch has caused extreme stress and limbo for students and families who are unable to get a clear picture of where they can afford to attend college.

In January, I joined 28 colleagues in a letter to the U.S. Government Accountability Office (GAO) demanding answers on implemented changes that were intended to make the FAFSA application process easier but instead have caused chaos and a great deal of stress for millions of students nationwide.
