POLL: Kansans are Keeping More this Tax Day

Tax Day is here. While many Americans are focused on what they owe the federal government, I want to talk about what you're finally getting back – because of the Working Families Tax Cuts.

This year, there's real progress.

We've started putting money back where it belongs – in your pocket. Millions of Americans are seeing larger refunds, driven by commonsense relief like deductions for taxes and tips, as well as an enhanced standard deduction for seniors, so you can keep more of what you earn.

These historic tax cuts are making a difference, and I fought to ensure Kansas priorities were front and center.

First, overtime tax relief. I grew up working long shifts at a sale barn, and I remember what it felt like to see your paycheck shrink before it ever hit your hands. That wasn't right then, and it isn't right now. Today, workers can deduct up to $12,500 in overtime pay – $25,000 for married couples. Refunds are already up, and that's real money back for Kansas families. I was proud to introduce the Overtime Wages Tax Relief Act last year, and I'm even prouder to hear about how much it's helping Kansans now.

Other new benefits have been so impactful for Kansans. No tax on tips and the enhanced standard deduction for seniors are helping more people make ends meet. Additionally, the increased standard deduction for this year is saving money for most Kansans. And the increased Child Tax Credit is putting more money in families' pockets.

These are just a few highlights from a bill that delivers for every single American. There's a lot more where that came from – and my hope is that this is just a starting point.

Now I want to hear from you. Tax Day looks different this year for a lot of Kansans – and I'd like to know if you're feeling the difference:

Was your tax return higher than last year? Click HERE to complete the survey.

Your response helps me understand how these tax cuts are working for real Kansas families – and keeps me focused on fighting for more relief where it's needed most.

Happy Tax Day, Kansans!
