In 2023 Republicans ran for all but one candidacy in the Shawnee County local election. We need to meet or beat that in 2025! Are YOU interested? Or do you know of someone who is? Currently dems dominate our school boards and city councils, and at the moment they're also dominating in the number of candidates who've filed to run. Fortunately, we have through the month of May to fill those spots on the ballot!
Government is closer to the We the People than meets the naked eye - especially LOCAL government (city councils and school boards). Don't appreciate your property taxes going up? Don't love what's happening in public education? Tired of potholes and water main breaks? Find yourself ruminating about how you'd govern better? Well then - run for office, recruit candidates, support candidates, or any / all of the above!
Because there's no partisan primary in local elections, I'm keeping track of which races have Republicans running. To my knowledge at this point in time, we NEED Republicans to run for the following elected positions for Shawnee County:
City Offices Topeka City Council districts 3, 5, 9 Auburn Mayor and City Council at-large Rossville Mayor and City Council at-large Silver Lake City Council at-large Willard Mayor and City Council at-large
School Boards Silver Lake (USD 372) position at-large Auburn-Washburn (USD 437) positions B, C, at-large Shawnee Heights (USD 450) position B Topeka (USD 501) positions 2, 3, 3.6
Your specific districts can be found on your voter ID card or by following the prompts at https://myvoteinfo.voteks.org/VoterView.
If you are interested or have questions, kindly fill our the form below so that we can connect and work to develop support teams. You don't have to know everything to run for office. Begin by considering the condition of your city and public schools and how you'd like to make it better! Click button below!
