America's Farmers and Ranchers Deserve Better than Senate Democrats 11th Hour, Partisan Farm Bill Text

This week, Senate Agriculture Committee Democrats released their Farm Bill text—a 1,400-page document that no Republican committee member has reviewed or had the opportunity to collaborate on. This is not a sincere or transparent effort to address the urgent needs of Rural America. Instead, it is a last-minute power play in the final hours – manipulating her majority power in the Senate Ag Committee before losing the gavel. This move shows that Senate Democrats have walked away from meaningful bipartisan negotiations that are a tradition in this committee and have opted to play politics with the livelihoods of hard-working farmers and ranchers at a time when Rural America needs real solutions.

Thoughtful negotiation and bipartisan cooperation are essential to delivering a Farmers First Farm Bill that Kansans deserve. Despite Senate Democrats' attempt to upend the process, I remain committed as a member of the Senate Ag Committee to representing Kansas agriculture, reviewing this bill, and advocating for the needs of our farmers and ranchers. With farmers facing record decreases in net farm income, we must put the FARM back in the Farm Bill by increasing crop insurance coverage and reference prices for the American farmer.

FBI Director Wray, Secretary Mayorkas Ditch Annual Senate Hearing on Threats to the Homeland

Two hours before they were set to testify publicly, Homeland Security Secretary Mayorkas and FBI Director Christopher Wray REFUSED to appear at this week's ANNUAL Threats to the Homeland hearing.

This is a slap in the face to the families of Laken RileyRachel Morin, and 12-year-old Jocelyn Nungaray, whose lives have been shattered by their sheer incompetence and inability to do their most basic job: secure our homeland.

Wray and Mayorkas must be subpoenaed and held in contempt. Over the past four years, the Biden-Harris Administration has played fast and loose with our national security while dodging accountability – they must answer for their failure to keep American citizens safe.

Senator Marshall's Bipartisan Resolution Celebrating First-Generation College Students Passes Senate

This week, our bipartisan resolution celebrating November 8th as National First-Generation College Celebration Day passed the Senate unanimously! As a first-generation college student, I know how exciting it is to be the first in the family to attend college.

Whether heading to a two-year or four-year school, the journey through higher education is an opportunity and accomplishment that should be celebrated. I'm proud to give a spotlight to our first-generation college students with this resolution and support programs such as TRIO, Pell Grants, and other resources to set up college students for success.

Ensuring Kansans have access to higher education is one of my top priorities in Congress. When the U.S. Department of Education botched its implementation of the FAFSA earlier this year, thousands of students and families were left in the dark about their financial aid or whether they could afford college. When Kansans made us aware, our office worked back home and on Capitol Hill to ensure students and families had financial peace of mind as they prepared for a bright future.

There are Only Two Genders: Male and Female. Period.

I never thought the United States would need legislation to tell us that there are only two genders – male and female – but here we are. This week, I introduced the Defining Male and Female Act, a piece of legislation that would codify common sense and ensure the legal definition of sex is based on facts, not feelings. Additionally, this bill would restore the legal right of girls and women to sex-separate sports and scholarships, the sex separation of restrooms, locker and dorm rooms, prisons, and shelters for victims of sexual assault, and the recognition of the objective difference between males and females, mothers and fathers.

As a physician who has delivered over 5,000 babies, I can confidently say that politicizing children's gender to use them as pawns for the radical woke agenda is not only wrong, but extremely dangerous. The reckless pursuit of radical gender ideology has exposed America's children to irreparable physical and emotional harm caused by so-called gender-affirming care – this needs to stop NOW.

The Defining Male and Female Act is a return to reality - putting an end to the gender ideology madness. Under our legislation, we will ensure no future administration can twist words to allow men to invade women's spaces.

Also this week, we brought together a coalition of voices to sound the alarm on the physician and emotional dangers that gender-affirming care imposes on America's children and discuss legislative solutions.

I dedicated my career as a physician to the health and well-being of the next generation. Never would I have imagined I'd have to fight harder in the halls of Congress to help save our children than I did in the delivery room. In the coming weeks, I am looking forward to unveiling legislation that will prevent doctors from engaging in gender-affirming procedures and mutilation and bring an end to the Gender Industrial Complex preying on our nation's children.
