Subject: KORA Request Regarding Delinquent Taxes in Laurens Bay District

Dear Dr. Pérez,

I am submitting a KORA request to address the issue of delinquent taxes and special assessments in the Laurens Bay district, which have persisted for over a decade. Despite raising this concern multiple times at county commission meetings and contacting the Attorney General, I have received inadequate responses, including a claim from the county council that the city is responsible for collecting these back taxes.
Given the absence of a city treasurer, I seek clarification on who bears ultimate responsibility for this matter—whether it falls to the city manager, the CEO, or another entity such as Public Works. I am also inquiring about the roles of Councilman Spencer Duncan, former City Manager Neil Dobler, and Amanda Stanley, who have not effectively addressed this issue. Please provide any ordinances, oral agreements, rules, laws, or approved documents related to this matter. If none exist, I urge you to clarify who is accountable for resolving these delinquencies, as the issue remains unaddressed.
Thank you for your attention to this matter. I look forward to hearing back from you.
