I hope everyone had a great week.   This coming Tuesday September 10^th, 2024, at 6pm 620 SE Madison St. 1^st Floor conference room is the official vote to go above revenue neutral.

please email the whole council plus Mayor and very respectfully ask them to stay revenue neutral.  Tell them about your plight and that we are revenue negative, and no one is there to give us more money.

Our city is over a half a billion dollars in debt!! I've attached a document that I requested from the city showing our debt.  They just borrowed millions more that is not reflected on the attachment. We'll be over a billion in a few years. This unsustainable to pay back.  This is where our money is going just to pay the debt. Finally, the zoo was transferred to a sales tax but the city never did give that money back to us it's still in their budget. Even though our city is going backwards they're still hiring more employees.

Please email the council. This email address should go out to all council members except the mayor he has a separate address. council@topeka.org & Mayor mayor@topeka.org

Do thank them for a few things of note.

1. They passed a resolution recognizing there is a property tax problem and encourage all other entities to recognize this as well
2. They have delayed the budget vote from last week until after they hear from the public Tuesday
3. Finally, they have agreed to take 15 million out of reserves instead of adding that onto our property taxes. Fyi our taxing are still going up 16% from the city alone

Finally, I will be speaking Tuesday to the council.  I'm asking everyone to sign up to speak or at minimum show up to the meeting to give us spiritual energy.

As concerned neighbors backing to undeveloped property, specifically at the 48th and Marlboro Rd intersection in the southwest corner of Laurens Bay, we want to know what can be done to address the following concerns:

Multiple (50+) rapid fired rounds coming from the specified area on each of the following days:
    - Fri, Aug 30 - 8:30 pm
    - Sat Aug 31 - 9:30 pm
    - Sun, Sep 1 - 12:30 am

Upon investigating the area, casings of various sizes were found in the street and the dirt mound, as well as an abandoned refrigerator, burned mattress, and graffiti.  Reflective signs at the end of the road have had "faces" painted on them and used as targets with various sized bullet holes.  The direction of the shots aim directly west to the Brownback property along Urish Road.

911 calls were made Friday and Saturday evening to inform police of the activity.

Please help resolve this situation on behalf of the following adjoining property owners:
