New Roots and Harvesters Partner to Feed Neighbors Thanks to a cooperative agreement program, known as the Kansas Local Food Purchase Assistance (LFPA), New Roots and Harvesters are working together to provide a big boost to refugee farmers, while also helping to get more fresh food to neighbors in need. For children, that number is 1 in 6. Every year, Feeding America conducts an extensive report called Map the Meal Gap, collecting data on individuals in every county in the US to determine the national state of food insecurity.
