Hi All,

Sorry… The schedule has been shifty, and I'm not sure what tomorrow's (Tuesday) Special Session schedule will be other than it begins at 9am, should you want to watch.

But, I do you know the AFP lemonade stand is a great stop and photo op, located outdoors at the south stairs of capitol, particularly from 10-11am. (Taxes are putting the squeeze on us…) We won't be meeting for lunch, not sure what will be taking place at that time. Both hearings were today (Monday).

Thanks, and Hope to see you there!

Lanell

Fellow Patriots,

We the grassroots need to bond together for tax relief, responsible government spending, and smaller government!  We have two big opportunities during the Kansas legislative special session.

You can show your support by any or all of these:

1) Show up and wear the green Americans For Prosperity T-shirt that will be provided when you arrive (unless of course, you already have one you can show up wearing). These are the only unifying visual we have to show we support responsible tax cuts and spending.

2) Submit written testimony regarding tax cuts and responsible spending from a taxpayer's perspective.

3) Offer to testify in person.

4) Contact your legislators!

The issues and opportunities:

Monday, June 17 - STAR bonds for Chiefs/Royals stadium(s) in Kansas. I strongly oppose, even though I'm a Chiefs fan for sure, because it blurs the private and public sectors like socialism does. Even against something as shiny as the Chiefs coming to Kansas, let's not sacrifice our principles.

1) We'll meet 1:30/2pm (no need to come earlier) in the Capitol visitors' center (the open area upon entering through visitors' doors). Look for Harrison Dollar phone 816-608-0278 (young gentleman wearing a green AFP shirt). He'll give you a shirt as well. Bathrooms are in this visitor center. Hearing is 2:30pm Monday, June 17 in Old Supreme Courtroom.

2) Written testimony in .pdf due by 10am same day to Commerce.Labor.Econ@house.ks.gov ,  commerce@senate.ks.gov

3) If you'd like to testify in person as well, please let that be known in the aforementioned email.

Tuesday, June 18 - Tax Cuts Hearings (mega bill followed by Constitutional Amendment 4% cap)

1) We'll assemble at the Capitol Cafeteria (enter from visitors' entrance and head south, cafeteria on left/east) for lunch and unifying T-shirts provided by AFP at 11:30am. Hearing is 1:00pm Tuesday, June 18 in room 112.

2) Email testimony about citizens' need for tax relief to Edward.Penner@KLRD.ks.gov (could copy Senator Caryn Tyson Caryn.Tyson@senate.ks.gov if you like, as she's worked very hard on responsible tax cuts).

3) If you'd also like to speak, decide whether you'll be speaking about the main tax relief bill (I'm not sure what's all in that this round) or the Constitutional Amendment for 4% cap (or less) increase of annual property tax valuations, and let that be know in your email submission.

4) Contact your legislators to vote for tax relief!

I'm attaching my written testimonies, fyi.

I'm emailing you because you're a leader who understands. Kindly email back if you plan to attend either day.

May God direct and bless your efforts.

Sincerely,
Lanell Griffith
