Cashless Tolling Begins July 1

In early April, KTA's CEO Steve Hewitt announced July 1, 2024 as the date the Kansas Turnpike will implement cashless tolling.

Cashless tolling is a big change and we're here to help you make that transition with us. A digital Go! Cashless toolkit for customers is located on DriveKS.com. Here you'll find information tailored to how you choose to use the roadway, with a KTAG or without, plus other resources.

We're finalizing details of the transition now. Look for updates in Turnpike Times and on DriveKS.com now through go-live.

On the Road with KTA's CEO

For the past two years, KTA's CEO Steve Hewitt has shared regular updates on the progress towards cashless tolling. In this edition, he looks at KTA's legacy of customer service that's evolving from toll booths to KTA's three customer service centers.

Smishing Scam Alert

The FBI recently issued a public service announcement about a fraudulent SMS texting scam involving toll collection in multiple states. At this time, KTA has had no reports of this in Kansas. KTA only sends text messages about roadway incidents. Verify the sender before responding or clicking links.

Construction Report

Projects to preserve, maintain, and modernize the Kansas Turnpike are underway for 2024. Stay up-to-date on the work with this month's construction report.

Work Zone Safety

Every spring, transportation organizations across the country, including KTA, participate in National Work Zone Awareness Week. What many don't realize is nearly 90% of the time, the individuals who are hurt in work zone crashes are motorists. Remember work zones are temporary. Actions behind the wheel can last forever.
